London in a day - Be a Londoner Tour
Today’s journey starts from the Houses of Parliament (aka The Palace of Westminster). Elizabeth Tower is the most significant part of the Palace, what we call is Big Ben the name of the bell. Westminster Abbey and Parliament Square will be the next places we will introduce. This part of the tour will be completed by 11:00 so that you can witness the famous ‘Changing of the Guard Ceremony’ at 11:30 am (if applicable on the day you take this tour). As you travel along the Mall, or preferably walk through London's Central Park and St. James's Park, you will reach Whitehall and Downing Street No: 10. Along Whitehall, you will walk to Trafalgar Square where you will observe Admiral Nelson's Column, The National Gallery, and St. Martin's in the Fields Church. You will be told the wonderful stories that each of these exciting historical landmarks represents.
Then you will have time for either a relaxing lunch or a quick bite (depending on the current situation) to re-energize before experiencing more hidden treasures, tastes, and cultures. You will proceed to Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe Theatre. As you pass by London's new pedestrian-only Millenium Bridge, you will reach Sir Christopher Wren's masterpiece ‘St Paul's Cathedral’; the seat of the Bishop of London. The Cathedral is a storehouse of history and story-telling itself, where the Monument will expose the truth of who, exactly, started the infamous London fire.
Next on the agenda is the beautiful Tower of London (no interior visit), where you will be able to see the world's mistakenly named original and ordinary London Bridge. You will be shown the very best vantage point for viewing the iconic Tower Bridge and taking photos. You will have the opportunity to wave to the ferry passengers which is the customary gesture of sending our very best wishes and good luck from the land to the sea (river actually)!
That is the end of your mesmerizing, yet memorable tour experience, unless you would like to visit London’s most beautiful pub, Dickens Inn in St Katharine’s Dock. You will fall in love with the atmosphere of this charming Pub in the heart of the city. However, if you would like to prolong your London experience, you are very welcome to add a pre-theatre dinner and a London’s West End Musical Night out experience to make your day an immaculate one. Just ask, we will do it for you.
